        Chief Business Officer - U.S. & NATO, NEX42

        Lieutenant General (ret.), United States Army, Roger brings decades of senior operational and strategic leadership experience across the U.S. and allied defense ecosystems. He most recently served as Commander of NATO Allied Land Command, overseeing multinational land operations and interoperability across the Alliance.

        His core strength lies in deep engagement with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), NATO command structures, joint and coalition operations, and senior defense leadership networks across Europe and North America. Roger enhances NEX42’s strategic access, transatlantic defense partnerships, and institutional alignment within U.S. and NATO frameworks.

        Lieutenant General (Ret.) Andreas Marlow

        Head of German Advisory Board, NEX42

        Lieutenant General (Ret.) Andreas Marlow is a highly experienced German Army officer and senior defense leader, who concluded his distinguished military career after decades of service in key strategic and operational roles within the Bundeswehr and NATO frameworks. Most recently, he served as Deputy Inspector of the German Army and Commander of the Military Base Organization, where he was instrumental in shaping force readiness, infrastructure, and support capabilities across the armed forces.

        Throughout his career, LTG Marlow held numerous high-level command and staff positions, including commanding the Division Rapid Forces and leading the I. German/Dutch Corps. He deployed in major international missions such as Kosovo and Afghanistan, where he contributed to multinational operations and strategic coordination within NATO-led efforts.

        With over 40 years of military leadership experience, he brings deep expertise in joint operations, rapid deployment forces, and alliance-based defense cooperation. As Senior Defense Advisor to NEX42, he supports the company’s strategic direction in security, defense innovation, and international partnerships.

        Colonel (GS) (Ret.) Niels Janeke
        VP Operations Germany, NEX42

        Colonel (GS) (Ret.) Niels Janeke served for more than 40 years in the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), holding senior command and strategic positions across operational planning, military engineering, NATO cooperation, and international security. His career included leadership appointments at the Bundeswehr Joint Operations Command, NATO Headquarters in Brussels, and as Head of the NATO Military Liaison Mission Moscow. Most recently, he served as Chief of Staff of the Multinational Special Training Command within the EU Military Assistance Mission Ukraine (EUMAM UA).

        Throughout his career, Colonel Janeke gained extensive experience in multinational operations, defense capability development, strategic planning, crisis response, and international military cooperation.

        As Vice President Operations Germany, he leads NEX42's operational activities in Germany, supporting strategic partnerships and strengthening collaboration between government, industry, armed forces, and innovative defense technology companies.

        Wolfgang Gäbelein, Major General (Ret.)

        Defense Academic Advisor, NEX42

        Major General (ret.), German Armed Forces, Wolfgang brings decades of senior operational and strategic leadership experience across the Bundeswehr and European defense institutions. He most recently served as Head of the Bundeswehr Office for Defence Planning (PlgABw), following key leadership roles including Deputy Commander of the Bundeswehr Logistics Command and Division Head at the Federal Ministry of Defence.

        With deep understanding of defense planning, logistics, and high-level policy, Wolfgang is skilled at translating complex strategic challenges into actionable solutions. He strengthens NEX42’s academic programs, research initiatives, and engagement with European defense networks, bringing both insight and experience to every collaboration.

        Lieutenant General (Ret.) Andrew M. Rohling

        Senior Defense Advisor, NEX42

        Lieutenant General (Ret.) Andrew M. Rohling is a highly experienced U.S. Army veteran and senior defense leader, recently retired after distinguished service culminating as Deputy Chair of the NATO Military Committee until September 2025. In this capacity, he played a central role in advising NATO’s senior leadership, strengthening alliance military cooperation, and contributing to strategic defense dialogue across the Euro‑Atlantic and beyond.

        Throughout a 36‑year career, LTG Rohling commanded and led at multiple levels, deploying in key operations including Panama, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and serving in senior joint and multinational positions including Deputy Commanding General of U.S. Army Europe and Africa. He brings deep insight into transatlantic defense, operational leadership, and international security cooperation.

        Brigadier General (Ret.) Frank Schmitz served for more than four decades in the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), holding senior command and strategic leadership positions across planning, force development, and organizational transformation. Most recently, he served as Head of Planning within the Bundeswehr Joint Support Command, where he played a key role in shaping capability development and the future structure of Germany's military support forces.

        Throughout his career, Brigadier General Schmitz gained extensive experience in defense planning, operational leadership, personnel development, and multinational military cooperation. His expertise spans strategic transformation, organizational modernization, and aligning military capabilities with evolving operational requirements.

        As Senior Defense Advisor to NEX42, he supports the company's strategic engagement with defense stakeholders, contributes to capability-driven innovation, and strengthens collaboration between government, industry, and emerging defense technology companies.

        Maurice Lewalter is a senior industry professional with over 16 years of experience in international aerospace and defense.

        Spanning business development, sales and international defence programme development, and multinational industrial collaboration across European and global markets. His expertise covers the full spectrum from early-stage technology development through to large-scale systems integration and operational deployment - with particular depth in dual-use capability pathways, defense innovation ecosystems, and international partnership frameworks.


        As an Academic Advisor to NEX42, Maurice contributes strategic guidance on research direction, defense and aerospace technology translation, and ecosystem positioning - supporting NEX42’s mission to bridge advanced academic research with real-world capability development across Europe.
